Waldo is curious about this
outsider taking a picture of him. If these bears charged a dollar for every picture
snapped of them, he would be a very rich bear now. I am looking through my camera not
realizing how close he is getting. This is one of my favorite pictures because it shows
you how close we really get! |

This picture was taken close to midnight. It never got dark
while we were there, but there was about 3 hours of dusk. This is the view from our
campground looking towards McNeil River. An incredibly beautiful place! |
|
You can see "Winnie" and her two cubs grazing in
the tideflats by our campground. They were not afraid to get "up close and
personal" with us. This was probably shot around 10 or 11 at night. |

Here we are hiking across Mikfik Creek on our way back to
the campground. We made sure not to disturb the bears who were fishing in the creek. |
|
This bear is looking for salmon swimming up the creek. Bears
have eyesight as good as you and me. He is hoping he can find some more fish to eat. |
|
I don't know which bear this is, but I love how the sun
reflects off his back. He was passing behind us on his way to the creek. |
